The best authorities to judge the efficiency of the port are the clients of the port to whom they provide services, in addition to the shareholders, as the increase in efficiency of the port increases the market value of their shares. The competitive position of the port between other competing ports is one of the most important indicators of the efficiency of the operation and management of any port.The time required by the ship in the port can be divided into two main sections:A-The waiting time at the port: the time required by the ship outside the port basin waiting for the appropriate dock to be filled, or not to complete the necessary contacts with the port leadership. This is the time that can be called according to the concepts of waiting queue theory in class, Accuracy should be added to the lost time before the handling of the vessel begins.B - time of stay on the berth: the time spent by the ship on the berth waiting to undergo administrative and legal procedures necessary, and then received the service of handling the seller (shipping and unloading) and called this time \time%u2016.There are many indicators that can be used to measure the quality of performance of the services provided by the port to the beneficiary parties (shippers, importers, ship owners).
